Integrated protection

Designing a pair of motorcycle jeans with armor there were two critical areas of the body that needed to be addressed; the knees and hips. These are considered high impact so armor packets were integrated into the pants and protective inserts added. Different armors have been used across the range, including low profile SAS-TEC joint protectors made of visco-elastic soft foam, and D30 armor made of a highly impact absorbent material that can dissipate energy from a blunt force collision.

Made using high-tech fabrics

When choosing which materials were the most appropriate to use for a range of motorcycle jeans with armor, key criteria included abrasion resistance, tensile strength, comfort and pull. In the end several different fabrics were chosen including Cordura, Balistex, Armalith and Dyneema.
