A motorcycling base layer should be firm, protective, comfortable, and, of course, stylish. The Bia Black hits all those targets, offering a new, innovative Pando Moto design for female riders.

Inspired by the popularity of the Commando UH Black, the Pando Moto Bia Black is clearly designed with women in mind. This double-layer bodysuit is shaped for the female form, and can be worn by itself, under a t-shirt or jacket, or over a singlet.

The Bia Black bodysuit is made of Baltistex and Cordura mesh. Previously used in military applications, Baltistex is an abrasion-resistant material that’s 15x stronger than steel. Despite this, it’s also extremely lightweight and heat-conducting, helping you stay cool and comfortable on the road. When put to the test during the European safety standards assessment, the Bia Black performed its duty, being CE rated to Level AAA.

Protecting the high-risk areas of your upper body from impact is an essential component of creating a high-quality body suit. For the Bia Black, Pando Moto has included D3O® Ghost™ CE Level 1 (EN1621-1:2012) approved armor. If you’d like a little more protection, you can also add a lightweight back protector, like the Quatroflex CE Level 2.

What does CE AAA certification mean, and why is it important?

CE Level AAA certification is the highest safety rating given to motorcycle clothing under the EN 17092-2:2020 European standard. This standard tests how well protective gear performs in real-world crash scenarios, focusing on things like abrasion resistance, seam strength, and tear resistance.

Knowing the CE rating of your motorcycle gear is important. It provides independent verification that the gear will offer the protection it promises in the event of an accident.

Can the Bia Black replace a motorcycle jacket?

The Bia Black is tested and rated using the same standards as motorcycle jackets, meaning it can replace a motorcycle jacket if you choose.

How do I choose the correct size for a women’s base layer / bodysuit?

How should I wash or maintain this armored base layer?

Start by removing the armor inserts. These can be wiped down with a damp cloth and left to air dry.

The Bia Black base layer can then be hand-washed or machine-washed inside out on a gentle cycle. Use cold or lukewarm water with a mild detergent, avoiding bleach, fabric softeners, or any harsh cleaning agents. After washing, let the suit air-dry in a shaded, well-ventilated area.

How long does the included armor last, and when should it be replaced?

D3O® Ghost™ armor doesn’t have a set expiry date, but usually lasts around 3-5 years with regular use. It should be replaced if you notice any signs of damage or deterioration, including hardening, tears, texture changes, or cracking.
