The core difference between CE Level 1 and Level 2 motorcycle armor is the amount of impact cushioning they provide. Level 1 armor allows for a maximum transmitted force of 18 kN, meaning it’s often lighter and more flexible. Level 2 armor allows a maximum transmitted force of 9 kN, meaning it’s more protective but as a result is generally bulkier.
How do I choose the correct size for women’s motorcycle armor inserts?
Choosing the right fit depends on the piece of armor. Some are universal, able to be worn with most riding gear. Others, particularly back protectors, need to be sized to the rider.
